I would like to thank Dr Rahman for doing my glaucoma and cataracts on both eyes. He was so caring and polite and made sure I was at ease whilst during the procedures. He went above and beyond to decrease the pressure around my eyes. My eyesight has massively improved as well as my quality of life. I cannot thank him enough and NHS Scotland and I am so proud he is one of our NHS heroes.

I consider myself very fortunate to have been referred to Mr Rahman having been diagnosed with a drainage problem in both eyes. Rather than using laser treatment he felt that the removal of both cataracts was the most sensible solution and the surgery having been completed I now have near perfect vision only needing glasses for very close reading. Not only is Mr Rahman an extremely skilled and dedicated surgeon he also possesses excellent interpersonal skills. In surgery he was very kind, patient and reassuring which meant a lot to me as a nervous patient and in clinic he is courteous approachable, pleasant and caring. Whilst waiting for my first operation I was highly entertained by a little Glasgow lady who knew Mr Rahman well having been treated by him for much more complex problems than mine. She told me and I quote " he's simply the best, a lovely man and a great surgeon too" .I couldn't put it better myself or recommend him more highly.

Mr Mamun Rahman is a fantastic Ophthamology Surgeon one of the best in my opinion and I am a health care professional. I have a complex medical eye history, which he was on the ball with showing his extensive knowledge and research. As a patient he explained things in a way that put me at ease and I could understand , alleviate my fears and was very personable. I had Cataract surgery on a dense surgical cataract with surgery presenting higher risks due to the fragile nature of my eyes. During the surgery Mr Rahman talked me through the procedure went at the pace I was able to tolerate as I was anxious. My outcome has beaten all expectations , my sight is great, my colour vision is restored fully with no complications The surgery was pain free and stress free and quick. My follow up was 2 days later instead of a month due to my complex eye history, he went that extra mile and was given his secretary number for any help and this is NHS How fortunate was I to receive this excellent level of care and expertise.
